Pentagon Removes 4 Troops from Iran War Death Toll, Creates New 'Overseas Operations' Category

The Pentagon's Defence Casualty Analysis System (DCAS) has reclassified four American soldiers who lost their lives in the recent resurgence of hostilities between the US and Iran, moving them from the official Iran war death toll to a new category labeled 'Overseas Operations.' These four Army fatalities, along with 207 injured personnel, are now listed under this updated classification on the system's website. It remains uncertain whether all the wounded were affected by the conflict with Iran. This adjustment has sparked concerns regarding the accurate accounting of the toll on US service members, especially as the Trump administration intensifies its military actions in an effort to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Pentagon spokesperson Joel Valdez stated that the reduction in casualty numbers was not an effort to obscure the human cost but rather due to 'anomalies' and 'temporary data disruptions' that are being addressed 'imminently.' US Central Command directed inquiries to the Pentagon, which, along with the White House, has not promptly replied to requests for comments.
