Pennacchio Argentato's 'Peace is a fire' at Acappella, Naples

exhibition · 2026-05-05

The Neapolitan duo Pennacchio Argentato (Pasquale Pennacchio, born 1979 in Caserta; Marisa Argentato, born 1977 in Naples) presents their latest exhibition 'Peace is a fire' at Galleria Acappella in Naples, on view until May 14, 2016. The title is taken from a collection of aphorisms by Bhikshu Sangharakshita. The show offers a double reflection through images and texts, addressing global issues stemming from economic, humanitarian, and managerial crises, and the failure of ideologies. The works feature refined epoxy resin sculptures incorporating 3D images of majestic glaciers, serving as metaphors for ongoing transformations and evidence of global warming and climate change. The project critiques the socio-economic system and redefines it within a more structured social capitalism, as argued by Jason W. Moore in his book 'Capitalism in the Web of Life', which, along with other texts, served as a source for the entire project.
