exhibition · 2026-04-26

In Milan, the Galleria d'Arte Moderna (GAM) is presenting a significant exhibition honoring Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo (1868–1907), marking 105 years since his last solo exhibit in 1920. Curated by Aurora Scotti and Paola Zatti, the showcase includes 40 pieces, such as 'Il Quarto Stato' along with its preparatory sketches. The display occupies five rooms on the ground floor and features works by Gaetano Previati and Giovanni Segantini. Additionally, Joseph Beuys's 1971 piece 'La rivoluzione siamo noi' is part of the exhibition. This event, co-produced by the Comune di Milano and METS Percorsi d'Arte, contributes to the Milano Cortina 2026 Cultural Olympiad. A docufilm directed by Francesco Fei will be broadcast on Sky Arte simultaneously. 'Il Quarto Stato' returned to GAM on July 2, 2022.
