Pellicola Magazine Launches First Print Issue in Milan
Pellicola, an international photography magazine founded by Simone Corrò in 2016 as a website, launched its first print issue on May 15, 2024, at Pananti Atelier in Milan. The 188-page bilingual (Italian/English) volume features photographic series, articles, and interviews, aiming to slow down the consumption of images in a digital age. The magazine's manifesto emphasizes contemplation and the physical process of development. The issue includes sections Projects, In dialogue, and Perspectives. Featured artists in Projects are Mateo Ruiz González, Alessandra Dragoni, Hayahisa Tomiyasu, Marina Caneve, and Julie van der Vaart. In dialogue pairs Andrea Botto (born 1973, Rapallo) and Bartolomeo Rossi (born 1993, Udine) in a visual and verbal exchange, complemented by a talk on May 15 at 6 PM and an exhibition at Cartacea gallery in Bergamo (until May 25). Perspectives includes contributions from Guido Guidi, Holly Roussell, and Davide Daninos. The launch was presented by Twenty14.
