Pedrali and Eugeni Quitllet Launch Libre Chair at Milan Design Week 2026

architecture-design · 2026-05-18

At Milan Design Week 2026, Italian manufacturer Pedrali and designer Eugeni Quitllet unveiled the Libre collection, a new seating system that uses gas air moulding technology to achieve ultra-slim profiles. The chair is a compact monoblock that mimics upholstered softness while remaining honest to its material. Presented within the #PedraliGentleHabitat—a 900-square-meter stand designed by DWA Design Studio featuring poplar beams and canvas walls—Libre was one of nine new collections. A version made from recycled polypropylene (post-industrial material) is available in colors including butter, honey, brown, dark red, mint green, and olive green. The design rethinks traditional bentwood geometry through modern polymer technology, with integrated openings for easy grip and maintenance. The collection debuted in April 2026 at Salone del Mobile.
