Peckham 24 Photography Festival Returns for 10th Anniversary Edition
The independent photography festival Peckham 24, established in 2016 by artist-curators Jo Dennis and Vivienne Gamble, is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary from May 15 to 17 at Copeland Park in London, under the theme The Eras Edition. This year’s program delves into the concepts of time, memory, and ecological change. Noteworthy exhibits include Vinca Petersen's HULALA, reflecting on her four-year experience on the Isle of Skye, and Cian Oba-Smith's Among Flowers, Tears and Rain, which addresses knife violence in London. Additionally, Max Ferguson captures the looming demolition of the London College of Communication's tower, while Maen Hammad's Landing highlights skateboarding in Palestine as an act of resistance. The festival will also introduce the P24 Photo x Hahnemühle Spotlight Series for emerging artists and host A Bigger Book Fair featuring over 90 independent publishers. The Messy Truth Live, led by Gem Fletcher, includes discussions with Charlotte Cotton and Bernice Mulenga. Vivienne Gamble remarked on the festival's evolution into a significant event in London's photography scene, having supported more than 200 artists.
