PBS's 'The Drawing Room' with Mo Welch Blends Interviews and Sketching

PBS Digital Studios has premiered a new interview series, 'The Drawing Room,' hosted by comedian and cartoonist Mo Welch. The show's format draws inspiration from 'Hot Ones,' where host Sean Evans interviews celebrities while they eat spicy wings, but replaces the hot sauce with easels. In each episode, Welch and her guest sit at separate easels, sketching each other while conversing, creating an atmosphere that feels more like a private chat than a standard interview. The inaugural episode features comedian Brett Goldstein, known for his role in 'Ted Lasso' and co-creating the Apple TV+ show 'Shrinking.' During the 10-minute conversation, Welch and Goldstein, who are friends, discuss a disastrous 'Mamma Mia!' audition, and Welch reveals a personal fact that surprises Goldstein. At the end, they reveal their drawings: Welch creates a cartoon, while Goldstein depicts her as a 'school marm.' Three episodes are currently available on the PBS YouTube channel.
