Paxos Contemporary Art Project Debuts on Greek Island
A new contemporary art festival called the Paxos Contemporary Art Project (P-CAP) is happening on the Greek island of Paxos from June 22 to September 9, 2018. Founded by Marina Tomacelli Filomarino, who has spent 40 years visiting the island and has a communications background from Germany and France, this festival aims to celebrate the island's beautiful environment with site-specific artworks from eight up-and-coming international artists. The project was made possible by a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over €25,000, with Chris Boikos, a gallery owner in Paris and Paxos, as a co-founder. Artists like Jewgeni Roppel and Yiannis Pappas will showcase their work outdoors, with guided tours and a visitor map available during the opening weekend.
