Pavillon Monk: Montreal's New Supportive Housing by L. McComber

In response to the housing crisis and the growing vulnerability of homeless individuals, the Old Brewery Mission is constructing a new permanent supportive housing pavilion directly across from Monk metro station in Montreal. Designed by L. McComber, the project comprises eighteen studio apartments conceived as a long-term reintegration space, offering stable and dignified housing for a vulnerable population with on-site professional support. The architectural area is 12,553 square feet, with a project year of 2026. The design team includes Frédérick Langevin and Anne-Frédéric Blais, with leadership from Josianne Ouellet-Daudelin and Maryse Allard. Principal architect is Laurent McComber. The general contractor is MA2D, with environmental sustainability consulting by MRA, structural engineering by Poincaré Experts-Conseils, and mechanical and electrical engineering by Direktion 360. Project management is by Groupe CDH. Suppliers include Boiserie Raymond, Docol, Forbo, La Tuilerie, Montréal Briques et pierres, and Shalwin.
