Paulina Olowska's 'Resonance' at Kurimanzutto explores Deborah Turbeville's legacy through murals and sculpture
The exhibition 'Resonance' by Paulina Olowska is on display at Kurimanzutto in Mexico City until May 20. It showcases eight murals that blend robotic photographic printing with hand-applied techniques such as airbrushed acrylic, charcoal, and pastel. Influenced by the late American fashion photographer Deborah Turbeville, who passed away in 2013, Olowska partners with Polish photographer Jacqueline Sobiszewski to recreate Turbeville's 1989 works in Kraków. Additionally, she collaborates with Mexican photographer Karla Ximena Cerón and model-artist Carmen Serratos in San Miguel de Allende. The exhibition also features ten limestone sculptures crafted with mason Joel Arrieta, highlighting engraved details. Olowska's pieces reflect Turbeville's themes while delving into modernism and the convergence of fashion and art history.
