Paul McCarthy Skateboards Fund South African Youth Center
The Belgian non-profit The Skateroom has achieved its fundraising goal through a limited-edition skateboard collection by American artist Paul McCarthy. The boards, featuring works from his Propo series and signed and numbered, were launched at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Proceeds support Skateistan, a skateboarding school in Johannesburg, South Africa, providing a safe space for children from low-income families. The Skateroom, active since 2013, has previously collaborated with Ai Weiwei and Andy Hope. Next up is South African artist Robin Rhode.
