Paul Cocksedge's 'Excavation: Evicted' at Future Etruscan Museum in Milan
During Milan Design Week 2017, the Salone del Mobile and miart have mutually benefited from their proximity. A key example is Paul Cocksedge's exhibition 'Excavation: Evicted' at Corso Venezia 52, the future home of the Museo di arte etrusca, promoted by Fondazione Luigi Rovati and set to open in 2018 after renovation by Mario Cucinella. The show is supported by Beatrice Trussardi, marking a new parallel initiative alongside Fondazione Trussardi. Cocksedge's work starkly highlights the effects of Brexit and gentrification in London's Hackney district, where many creatives have been forced to leave their studios. The artist salvaged large sections of building foundations to create tables and shelves, as seen in the gallery photos. The exhibition runs from April 4 to 9, presented by Paul Cocksedge Studio and Friedman Benda in collaboration with Beatrice Trussardi.
