Patron Cinda Collins Supports Emerging Female Artists at Walker Art Center

institutional · 2026-04-20

Cinda Collins, an enthusiastic neighbor of the Walker Art Center, has been actively involved in initiatives that uplift emerging female artists. Living near the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, she often visits to enjoy the beauty of nature and art. Her connection to the Walker is strong, driven by its influence on the community and her love for contemporary art, dance, and music. With over 35 years in finance, Collins has seen the persistent challenges women face, which inspired her latest donation. This funding supports Kandis Williams's exhibition, A Surface, and Rosy Simas's upcoming project, A:gajë:gwah dësa’nigöëwë:nye:’ (i hope it will stir your mind). Simas's work, rooted in her Haudenosaunee heritage, promotes themes of peace and unity and will be featured in spring 2026. Collins believes in the power of art to amplify new voices, and the Walker is grateful for her support in showcasing emerging female talent.
