Patrizia Asproni outlines new vision for Museo Marino Marini in Florence
In February 2016, Patrizia Asproni took on the role of director at Florence's Museo Marino Marini, with the goal of strengthening its local identity and expanding its global reach. Located in the former church of San Pancrazio, the museum showcases the Cappella Rucellai, designed by Leon Battista Alberti. A Visiting Director program was introduced, with Dimitri Ozerkov set to curate the exhibition season for 2017 beginning in May. An Honorary Committee, led by Michela Bondardo and featuring prominent figures such as Jeffrey Schnapp and Laurence Kardish, was established. The museum will undergo renovations, closing in late January 2017 and reopening in late spring, offering free entry from December 15 to January 15. An exhibition by James Ivory is scheduled for October 2017, along with expected collaborations with Fondazione Marino Marini.
