Patrick Tuttofuoco's 'Watchmen' Installation at CISOM Headquarters in Milan

Patrick Tuttofuoco created 'Watchmen' ('Sentinelle'), a luminous installation of colored light tubes and a mirrored background, for the new headquarters of CISOM (Corpo Italiano di Soccorso Ordine di Malta) in Milan. The work depicts two intertwined hands, symbolizing spiritual and physical solidarity. Tuttofuoco, an artist-architect, reflects on the human relationship with urban space and emphasizes the urgency of physical intervention in a society dominated by virtual communication. The installation is placed along the stairwell of the four-story building at Via Passo Pordoi 3, serving as a background element that represents CISOM's humanitarian work. CISOM operates in coordination with the Municipality of Milan and national authorities to support marginalized populations, including the homeless, through listening, human contact, and medical care. The headquarters houses storage, vehicles (including a new mobile medical clinic), and coordination for national emergencies, as seen in the Amatrice earthquake and Genoa disaster. About 220 volunteers will use the facility. Tuttofuoco chose white and pink colors, referencing the Order's cross and humanity. The work was reported by Charlotte Garlaschelli.
