Patrick Saytour's Deconstructed Painting at Galerie à la Lettre

In the early 1970s, Patrick Saytour began deconstructing the canvas, a common practice among painters of his generation. Over fifteen years later, his work continues to explore the impossibility of painting, drawing from 'simili culture' and, as Inès Champey notes, stealing from painting the privilege of the image. The exhibition 'Patrick Saytour : à la lettre, la lettre dérobée' was held at Galerie à la Lettre in 1987.
