Patrick Hough and Lawrence Lek win 2017 Jerwood/FVU award
Patrick Hough and Lawrence Lek secured the 2017 Jerwood/FVU award, selected from 240 applicants. A panel including Steven Bode of FVU, artist Duncan Campbell, Hayward Gallery curator Cliff Lauson, Frieze reviews editor Amy Sherlock, and Jerwood Visual Arts head of programme Sarah Williams made the choice. Each artist receives £20,000 to produce new moving-image works for exhibition in spring 2017. Their proposals explore historical fabrication, from speculative futures where machines author their own histories to human constructions of the past.
