Patrick D. Flores to direct 2019 Singapore Biennale

Patrick D. Flores has been named the artistic director for the Singapore Biennale, which is set to kick off in 2019. The Singapore Art Museum will manage both the 2019 and 2021 editions. Flores is currently a professor at the University of the Philippines and works as a curator at the Vargas Museum in Manila. He has previously curated the Philippine pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2015 and the 2008 Position Papers exhibition at the Gwangju Biennale. In 2014, he was a guest scholar at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles. Flores aims to turn the Biennale into an experience that combines elements of a festival and a seminar, promoting thoughtful dialogue on contemporary issues while celebrating regional creativity.
