Pastis in Turin Celebrates 24 Years as a Cultural Bar and Art Space

other · 2026-04-26

Pastis, a historic bar and art space in Turin's Quadrilatero Romano district, is celebrating its 24th anniversary with a year-long program of events leading to 2025. Founded in 2000 by Toni Minniti and Andrea Tortorella, the venue combines a bistrot, bottega, bar, and art space. The bar's counter was designed by artist Sergio Cascavilla, and it produces the SugoNews magazine-napkin. Pastis collaborates with the Associazione Culturale Azimut to promote young artists. The adjacent Conserveria, a former confectionery transformed into an exhibition space, hosts shows by students of Accademia Albertina. The anniversary began with a summer event where 50-60 artists created live drawings on the walls, including a portrait of Franko B. A manifesto titled "La cultura è nei bar" by Antonio Grulli was presented. Upcoming events include a solo show by young artist Nina Bertoletti on December 13. Pastis also runs Casa Accademia, a collaboration with Accademia Albertina for bi-weekly exhibitions, and Oasi, an urban regeneration project involving gardening, art, and social inclusion in a former parking lot.
