other · 2026-04-24

On February 25, 2011, at 6 PM, the École Normale Supérieure in Paris will host the first dialogue of "Passations de l'esprit," a series of conversations between artists and writers co-organized by Hans-Ulrich Obrist and Donatien Grau. The inaugural conversation, titled "Le signe et le corps," will feature designer Mathias Augustyniak (of M/M Paris) and writer Abdellah Taïa, co-moderated by Obrist and Grau. Augustyniak, co-founder of M/M with Michael Amzalag in 1992, has served as art director for Vogue France, Interview, and Purple Fashion Magazine, and his work has been exhibited at Palais de Tokyo, Centre Pompidou, and Haunch of Venison in London. He recently contributed to "Not in Fashion" at MMK Frankfurt and published "Alphadicks" in 2010. Taïa, author of several books published by Seuil including "Une mélancolie arabe" (2008), won the Prix de Flore in 2010 for "Le jour du roi." The event is free and open to the public, held in Salle des Actes at 45 rue d'Ulm, Paris.
