Parma 360 Festival Reactivates Disused Spaces for Site-Specific Art

The sixth edition of Parma 360, a festival that reactivates disused spaces for contemporary art, runs from September 10 to October 30, 2022, across multiple historic venues in Parma, Italy. Directed by Chiara Canali and Camilla Mineo, who founded the festival in 2015, the event features site-specific works by artists including Edoardo Tresoldi, Studio Azzurro, Yuval Avital, Francesca Pasquali, and others. The theme is 'Passaggi/Paesaggi' (Passages/Landscapes), exploring the relationship between space and time. Notable exhibitions include Francesca Pasquali's 'Camminando contaminando' at the medieval Torrione Visconteo, where interactive works made of industrial and recycled materials invite visitors to touch; 'ánemos' at Palazzo del Governatore, a video, installation, and sound work by Tresoldi, Studio Azzurro, and composer Max Magaldi that depicts a full day through sky and light; and Yuval Avital's 'Persona' at Palazzo Marchi, featuring sound masks in the stucco room. The festival also includes illustration works by Federica Bordoni at the Liberty kiosk in Piazza della Steccata, and a section called 'CINEMATICA illustrazione in movimento' opening September 30 at Spazio Vetreria di Italia Veloce, showcasing illustrators Riccardo Guasco, Fabio Consoli, Marina Marcolin, and Ilaria Urbinati. Avital was named Artist of the Year 2022 by Reggio Parma Festival.
