Paris Photo 2018: 22nd Edition Opens with Curiosa Section and 168 Galleries
The Grand Palais will host the 22nd edition of Paris Photo, the premier international photography fair, from November 8 to 11, 2018. This year’s event will showcase 168 galleries and 31 publishers, divided into five sections, including the newly introduced Curiosa section, curated by Martha Kirszenbaum, which features erotic works by artists such as Daido Moriyama, Nobuyoshi Araki, Robert Mapplethorpe, Natalia LL, and Renate Bertlmann. The main section comprises Solo, Duo, and Highlights, with a spotlight on Ugo Mulas by Italian gallery Lia Rumma. Seventeen new galleries, including Marc Selwyn and Enrico Astuni, will participate. The Prismes section will exhibit large-format pieces, while the Film section, curated by Matthieu Orléan and Pascale Cassagnau, will delve into both static and moving images. Additionally, the special exhibition Elles x Paris Photo will celebrate women photographers from Julia Margaret Cameron to contemporary talents.
