Paris Opens First Permanent Street Art Museum art42
In the Batignolles area of the 17th arrondissement, Paris has launched art42, its inaugural permanent museum focused on street art. Covering almost 4,000 square meters, the museum showcases 150 artworks, featuring contributions from Nicolas Laugero Lassere. The collection comprises original pieces and graffiti displayed indoors. The museum, named after the École 42 programming school co-founded by billionaire philanthropist Xavier Niel in 2013, has garnered support from Niel, who is also the son-in-law of Bernard Arnault. The opening exhibition highlights works by renowned artists such as Ericailcane, Blu, Miss Van, and Banksy. This project builds on past initiatives like La Tour 13 and draws inspiration from international sites like Wynwood in Miami and a contentious exhibition in Bologna.
