Paris Metro Map Redesigned to Highlight Cultural Venues
Since March 3, a new Paris metro map has been released, renaming stations after cultural institutions to promote the city's artistic and heritage sites. The map, created by Lucas Destrem, renames stations such as Anvers to Trianon – Elysée-Montmartre, Château Rouge to Institut des Cultures d'Islam, and RER Stade de France Saint-Denis to Académie Fratellini. The initiative aims to support cultural venues hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, highlighting that culture accounts for 10% of jobs in the Île-de-France region—more than the automotive, aerospace, and pharmaceutical sectors combined (7%). Additionally, the guide "Grand Paris de la culture," launched by Enlarge your Paris and Les Magasins Généraux, offers a free PDF with 35 cultural addresses, from the Louvre to the Palace of Versailles, encouraging continued engagement even during closures.
