Paris Internationale Launches Milan Edition in Palazzo Galbani with Radical Fair Format

festival-fair · 2026-04-20

Paris Internationale has expanded to Milan with its first edition in the Lombard capital, rejecting conventional fair structures. The event occupies Palazzo Galbani, a modernist building suspended between ruin and reactivation, where raw surfaces, continuous city views, and natural light create an unmediated dialogue with art. Spread across four non-hierarchical levels without main corridors or focal points, the fair embraces industrial aesthetics with bare walls, marked floors, and exposed structures. Galleries like Emanuela Campoli present installations by Benni Bosetto and Nick Mauss that feel inhabitable, while Deborah Schamoni showcases Maria VMier's continuous pictorial sequence. Spazio Veda exhibits Dominique White's sprawling sculpture, and Galerie Mezzanin features Lou Masduraud. Other notable presentations include Martina Simeti's dialogue between Alek O. and Santo Tolone, Ciaccia Levi's atmospheric paintings by Ibuki Inoue, Clima's ambiguous relationship between Nicola Martini and Emma Masut's work, Luisa delle Piane's exchange between Gaetano Pesce and Giovanni De Francesco, and Vistamare and Francesca Minini showing Anna Franceschini and Ambra Castagnetti respectively. The fair's vertical layout encourages wandering and changing rhythms rather than quick consumption. This approach dilutes commercial dimensions within an experience demanding attention and time, avoiding the saturation typical of traditional fairs.
