Paris Hosts Multiple Andy Warhol Exhibitions in Spring 2009
In spring 2009, Paris became a hub for Andy Warhol with three concurrent events. From March 18 to July 13, the Grand Palais presented 'Le Grand Monde d'Andy Warhol,' an exhibition focused on the pop master's portraits, curated by Alain Cueff. The show explores a suspended state between life and death in Warhol's work. Simultaneously, from March 6 to May 15, the Cinémathèque française screened a selection of Warhol's films. Additionally, the Maison Rouge – Fondation Antoine de Galbert hosted 'Warhol TV' until May 3, dedicated to Warhol's television activities, curated by Judith Benhamou-Huet. An anthology of articles and interviews from artpress over the past thirty years was also published.
