Paratissima Launches #iorestoacasa Selfie Campaign for Artists in Quarantine

During the coronavirus pandemic, Paratissima, the Turin-based emerging art fair, launched a social media campaign called #iorestoacasa to encourage artists to share selfies from their studios or creative corners. The initiative aims to raise public awareness about the importance of staying home and highlights the role of culture and art in conveying crucial messages. Artists are asked to submit a photo, preferably a selfie, accompanied by a brief text explaining the significance of remaining at home during this dramatic time for Italy. The campaign was announced on Paratissima's Facebook page, where writer Luca Gamberini posted a reflection: 'I stay home because I have only one grandmother left, and I couldn't accept that some grandfather or grandmother leave this earth because of me. I stay home because it's not fear or alarmism but responsibility, civic sense, humanity, something learned at home, in the family.' Photographer Silvia Montevecchi also contributed, describing her experience of staying home as an opportunity to read slowly, savor every word, and think about new projects without the usual rush. Submissions are to be sent via email, and the best ones will be published on Paratissima's Instagram and Facebook profiles. The campaign underscores the role of artists in modeling responsible behavior during the lockdown.
