Paratissima Factory and NICE Master for Curators Launch in Turin
Paratissima, the fair for emerging contemporary art talents, is evolving into a permanent creative hub. In 2022, it launches Paratissima Factory at its headquarters ARTiglieria in Turin, transforming the space into a cultural hub hosting events, exhibitions, and residencies. The third floor will house artist studios, ateliers, and residencies on a quarterly cycle, culminating in public presentations. Simultaneously, the NICE Master in Curatorial Practices returns for its ninth edition in Turin. The course runs from March to November, emphasizing hands-on learning through case studies and collaborative projects. Participants curate actual exhibitions for the Nice&Fair event during Turin's November art week. Francesca Canfora, Master director, notes that over eight years, NICE has involved more than 100 students and produced 52 exhibitions with catalogs. For 2022, two work grants will be awarded to top students, who will serve as Junior Curators for Paratissima 2023's Dir Art. The Master is now part of the broader Paratissima Factory project, offering young curators a 360-degree experience in a permanent artistic laboratory. Additional announcements are expected at a press conference in mid-March.
