Paraná's Cultural Secretary Luciana Casagrande Pereira Drives Key Infrastructure Projects and Global Partnerships

Since 2019, Luciana Casagrande Pereira has served as the Secretary of Culture for Paraná, leading significant cultural infrastructure initiatives throughout the state. Her visionary plans feature the creation of a branch of Paris's Centre Georges Pompidou in Foz do Iguaçu, crafted by Paraguayan architect Solano Benítez, and the transformation of the former Brahma/Ambev brewery in Curitiba into a 50,000-square-meter creative center known as Fábrica de Ideias. This facility will blend art, technology, and the creative economy while maintaining its historic architecture. Pereira has obtained R$200 million in funding, aided by Audi do Brasil. Additionally, she established a partnership with France, confirmed during a meeting with Governor Carlos Roberto Massa Júnior (Ratinho Júnior), which includes a Paris Opera performance at Teatro Guaíra in October 2025, part of the Brazil-France cultural exchange year. An architect and former director of the Bienal Internacional de Arte de Curitiba, Pereira seeks to distribute cultural resources beyond Curitiba, revitalizing historic sites through innovative retrofitting. The Fábrica de Ideias will pay tribute to notable local figures such as engineers André and Antônio Rebouças, physicist César Lattes, and aviator Alberto Santos Dumont.
