Parallels and Peripheries: Fractals and Fragments at Galleria Anna Marra, Rome

The exhibition 'Parallels and Peripheries: Fractals and Fragments,' curated by Larry Ossei-Mensah, has debuted at Galleria Anna Marra Arte Contemporanea in Rome. It showcases the works of artists such as Kim Dacres (born 1986, New York), Kenturah Davis (born 1984, New Haven), Basil Kincaid (born 1986, St. Louis), Nate Lewis (born 1985, Beaver Falls), David Shrobe (born 1974, New York), and Kennedy Yanko (born 1988, St. Louis). This marks the fourth edition of the project, which previously took place at Oolite Arts in Miami Beach (2018), MOCAD in Detroit (2019), and VisArts in Rockville (2019). The exhibition delves into multiculturalism, identity, and postcolonialism, drawing on Habermas and Taylor's 1996 work 'Kampf um Anerkennung im Demokratischen Rechtsstaat' to examine the transient aspects of identity through diverse linguistic expressions.
