Paraiso Remodel by Austin Sandy Architects Transforms East Bay Ranch House

architecture-design · 2026-08-05

The Paraiso Remodel, crafted by Austin Sandy Architects, has revitalized a ranch-style residence in a hilly area of East Bay into a bright family dwelling. Completed in 2025, this 2700 square foot project was overseen by Susanna Moreira. The initial T-shaped layout, which included a disjointed 1960s extension, resulted in a dark and fragmented home. Seeking a fresh perspective, the new owners enlisted Austin Sandy. The design team features Joseph Sandy and Pete Austin, with ASD Woodworks handling general contracting, EKR Design managing interior aesthetics, and structural engineering provided by USE. Ethan Gordon captured the project through photography. This endeavor is categorized under Interior Design and House Interiors, aiming to enhance natural light and create a unified living environment. The remodel is situated in the United States.
