Paper Positions Turns Ten: Political Bodies and Material Experiments at Tempelhof

The Paper Positions art fair celebrates its tenth anniversary at Berlin's Tempelhof Airport, featuring around 70 galleries dedicated to works on paper. A highlight is Kubra Khademi's series "Women in simple situations" at Eric Mouchet, depicting exposed female bodies as acts of resistance. Khademi, born in 1989 in Afghanistan and now based in France, was forced to flee after her 2015 performance "Armor" in Kabul. Her drawings transform lines into gestures of self-assertion. Other notable presentations include Annegret Soltau's pierced paper works at Galerie Bachlechner, Una Ursprung's layered collages at PJ, Dirk Krecker's typewriter compositions at Heike Strelow, and Tina Heuter's silk paper sculptures at Mianki. Stefanie Moshammer's inkjet prints at Galerie Roberta Keil explore paper's materiality in photography, alongside works by Madita Kloss. Galerie Holthoff shows small-format drawings by A.R. Penck. The fair runs in the spacious, open hall of the former airport, emphasizing paper as a medium of contrast and intensity.
