Paper Biennial in Schio Focuses on Fragility and Romanian Art
The Di Carta/Paper Made biennial in Schio, Veneto, is dedicated exclusively to paper art, featuring around eighty artists. Curated by artist Valeria Bertesina, the edition explores the theme of fragility, addressing life's precarity, human-environment relations, and the symbolic world. The biennial includes a special focus on Romania, with fifteen artists selected by Ovidiu Petca, and honors Romanian artist Suzana Fantanariu with a gold medal for lifetime achievement. The event also fosters art-industry collaborations: some works have been translated into wallpapers by Vicenza-based company Adriani & Rossi, which will present the collection at upcoming trade fairs, attracting interest from Middle Eastern clients. The biennial is contextualized in the Alto Vicentino region, historically known for its paper mills and printing workshops.
