Papagna Experience: Un Museo Virtuale Diffuso a Ceglie Messapica
A new invisible museum called Papagna Experience has launched in Ceglie Messapica, a historic town in the Valle d'Itria, southern Italy. The project offers a free, immersive tour until the end of March, using a kit comprising a booklet, smartphone, VR headset, and headphones, available from the library of the Palazzo Ducale. Visitors navigate the town's alleys and stairways to experience augmented reality, VR and 3D short films, digital graphic novels, immersive sound stories, and chat-based dialogues. The experience is curated by a creative collective led by Nicola Zucchi, Mirko Lodedo, and Domenica Ligorio, focusing on layered narratives about present-day relationships rather than historical-artistic facts. One highlight is a geolocated video of people swimming and dancing in a pool or sea, set to music by Lodedo. The team emphasizes that the town's true cultural attractors are its people, not special tourist attractions.
