Paolo Puddu Wins Castel Sant'Elmo Site-Specific Art Competition

Paolo Puddu, an artist from Naples born in 1986, emerged victorious in the fifth edition of 'Un'Opera per il Castello' with his artwork titled 'Follow the shape'. This piece will become part of the permanent collection at Castel Sant'Elmo in Naples. The competition, which focused on the theme 'Uno sguardo altrove. Relazioni e incontri', invited site-specific works that connect all museums within the Polo museale della Campania. Puddu's installation incorporates braille to convey texts about Naples on handrails, offering a tactile interaction. The jury comprised Mariella Utili, Anna Maria Romano, Angela Tecce, Carolina Italiano, Giuseppe Gaeta, Renata Caragliano, Massimiliano Tonelli, Luigi Ratclif, Monica Coretti, Umberto Raucci, Carlo Santamaria, and Mario Francesco Simeone. Additionally, ten finalists were chosen, and their biographies will be featured in a catalog for the concluding exhibition.
