Paola Pivi's First US Solo Show at Dallas Contemporary
Paola Pivi's first solo exhibition in the United States, titled 'Ma'am,' was held at Dallas Contemporary in Texas. The show celebrated twenty years of the nomadic Italian artist's career and was curated by Justine Ludwig, Director of Exhibitions and Senior Curator at Dallas Contemporary. Among the works on view was her iconic upside-down G-91 fighter jet, first presented in 1999 at the Arsenale during the Venice Biennale, when Italy won the Golden Lion for best national pavilion. Other installations included a truck flipped on its side, originally shown in 1997 in Pescara as part of Fuori Uso, and her famous polar bears covered in feathers. The exhibition closed on August 21.
