Panteon: New Architecture Magazine Launches in Rome

publication · 2026-05-04

A group of young Roman architects, all under 30, launched a new printed architecture magazine called Panteon (without the 'h') in 2019. The name pays homage to Giovanni Battista Nolli's 18th-century map of Rome, where the Pantheon is spelled without the 'h'. The magazine is published by the collective WAR (Warehouse of Architecture and Research), directed by Jacopo Costanzo with Valeria Guerrisi and Gabriele Corbo. Each issue features five architectural projects and is bilingual (Italian/English) to reach international audiences. The first issue, titled 'Anacronismo,' was presented at Open House Roma, Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Campo (with Stefano Ciavatta), and Macro Asilo (with Sandro Poli of Superstudio). The magazine is printed in Trastevere by O.Gra.Ro in an initial run of 500 copies. It is sold at major Roman museums, Milan's Reading Room, and Venice's bruno bookstore. The team consists mostly of architects and PhDs. Future plans include a call for papers for the second issue, 'Billboards,' and participation in the New Generations Festival at Macro from September 5 to 8.
