Panorama: Mapping Milan's Creative Scene Through Sixty Interviews

Diorama Editions, a new independent publishing venture evolving from Diorama Magazine, launched its first book, Panorama, an anthology of dialogues with sixty protagonists of Milan's creative scene. Edited by Zoe De Luca with contributions from Mattia Capelletti, Ingrid Melano, and Hazal Ilgım Çelik, the book was presented during miart 2016. De Luca conceived the project in 2015, driven by a sense of burgeoning energy in Milan, citing new spaces like SPRINT independent publishing fair in the Isola district and Fanta's exhibitions at the viale Monza market. The selection process was organic, starting with about 100 contacts, and aimed to capture a diverse spectrum of artists contributing to the local community, without generational or stylistic filters. The team included Lorenza Novelli and Iris Legge for editing and translation, and Giulio Fonseca and Elena Radice for design and photo editing. De Luca notes that while global themes like digital and technical experimentation appear, no distinct Milanese artistic trends emerge. Future plans include presenting the book in Italy and abroad, and developing appendices to extend the dialogues beyond print.
