Panorama 9-10 at Le Fresnoy: Student Works Critique Institutions and Media
From June 7 to July 13, 2008, the ninth installment of Panorama celebrated the tenth anniversary of Le Fresnoy, Studio national des arts contemporains in Tourcoing, France. Curated by Bernard Blistène, the exhibition featured student works that emphasized traditional video projection and offered critical insights into art distribution. An installation by Gabriel Abrantes and Benjamin Crotty connected their works through a tunnel. Crotty's Rock Garden 4 le Fresnoy included a rooftop garden adorned with crystals and songs by Paul Morissey, while Abrantes's Gugg'n'Tate illustrated a meteorite striking Tate Modern and a plush Guggenheim toy attacking Hans-Ulrich Obrist. Additional contributions included Bertille Bak's Faire le mur, Bertrand Dezoteux's 3D film Corso, Eléonore Saintagnan's Jacques-le-canapé, and Expanded Crash by Florian Pugnaire and David Raffini.
