Panel Discussion on Art and Planetary Interconnections in Venice

other · 2026-04-20

A panel discussion titled 'Art in the Age of the Planetary' will take place on Thursday 15 December 2022 at 5pm at Casa dei Tre Oci in Venice. Moderated by Mark Rappolt, Editor-in-Chief of ArtReview, the event features artist Agnieszka Kurant and philosopher Nigel Warburton. Organized in collaboration with Berggruen Arts, this talk is the third in a series exploring how art addresses global interconnectedness amid political and economic divisions. Kurant, based in New York, examines complex systems blending fiction and reality, with recent work shown in Venice's PLANET B exhibition and a solo show at Castello di Rivoli. Warburton, a freelance writer, authors books on philosophy and architecture and contributes to The New European. The Berggruen Institute, headquartered in Los Angeles, acquired Casa dei Tre Oci as a European base for dialogues and exhibitions, also launching Berggruen Arts & Culture with Palazzo Diedo in Venice, set to open in 2024 under artistic director Mario Codognato and architect Silvio Fassi.
