Pancuccia: a Milan Design Week pet bed that doubles as seating

architecture-design · 2026-04-27

During Milan Design Week, United Pets launched Pancuccia, a multifunctional piece of furniture designed by Roberto Rago and Alessandro Gorla. It serves as a bed for cats and small-to-medium dogs and as a seat for humans. Made from hygienic, washable polyethylene, it features a bicolored cushion inside and a capitonné-inspired pattern on top for grip. Available in pink, green, and gray, the design aims to integrate pet comfort with home aesthetics. The designers drew from personal experience: Gorla's cat Tania inspired the need for shared comfort, while Rago's dog Margot influenced the emphasis on quality and beauty. United Pets also presented Bon Coeur, a biodegradable bag dispenser for Valentine's Day by Annalisa Margarini and Giovanna Molteni, and Fish Kiss by Shaker Design, a double bowl shaped like kissing fish.
