Palimpsest of African Cities exhibition opens across Dakar venues
The exhibition titled Palimpsest of African Cities is part of the OFF Programme for the 2026 Dakar Biennale and Partcours, taking place from November 20, 2026, to February 28, 2027, at various locations throughout Dakar, Senegal. This event represents the newest installment of the DIG WHERE YOU STAND initiative launched by the African Artists' Foundation (AAF), in collaboration with KADIST and the Institut français du Sénégal. It features a diverse group of artists, architects, photographers, filmmakers, and researchers who explore the narratives, forces, and daily interactions that influence modern African cities. The exhibition presents the city as a continually evolving space where memories, functions, architectures, mobilities, and imaginations intersect, aligning with the Biennale's theme, “(Anti)”.
