Palestinian woman's face projected on Ligurian church facade in Adrian Paci work
From October 15, a frame from Adrian Paci's video "Rasha" will be projected onto the facade of the Church of San Francesco in Noli, Liguria, as part of the second edition of Considerazioni Intempestive, a contemporary art conversation series organized by the Fondazione Culturale Noli. The projection, which will run until January 14, features the face of Rasha Miech, a 35-year-old Palestinian woman who fled the West Bank as a child, lived in a refugee camp near Damascus, lost her sight after ISIS attacks, and now resides in Italy after being brought through a humanitarian corridor by the Community of Sant'Egidio. The project addresses themes of migration and violence against women, and was made possible with support from the Diocese of Savona Noli and the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Liguria. The church's medieval facade, which once bore a now-faded painting, becomes part of the artwork, with the video also projected inside. The Fondazione Culturale Noli, directed by architect Gloria Bovio, aims to transform the series into a festival and has established a scientific committee including critic Francesca Pasini, architect Andrea Canziani, historian Giovanni Agosti, and professor Massimo Recalcati, who also serves as foundation president.
