Palermo Opens Letizia Battaglia's International Photography Center
The newly inaugurated International Center of Photography has opened in Palermo under the leadership of esteemed photojournalist Letizia Battaglia. Housed in the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa and spanning 600 square meters, the center is a gift to the city, featuring three initial exhibitions. The first showcases over 150 photographs of Palermo, while the second, curated by Kitti Bolognesi, Giovanna Calvenzi, and Marta Posani, explores migration narratives from the post-war era. A solo exhibit by British artist Isaac Julien rounds out the offerings. Battaglia described the center as a "small cathedral," fulfilling a vision she has held for four decades.
