Palazzo Strozzi's Education Department on Engaging Visitors with Marina Abramović
The Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi's education department in Florence, under the leadership of Arturo Galansino, captivates a wide range of audiences through the Marina Abramović exhibition. The team, which includes Alessio Bertini and Martino Margheri, responds to visitors' perceptions of nudity in performance art and provides educational initiatives for families, schools, individuals with autism, and those with dementia. They collaborated with pedagogists and trained educators alongside performance artist Chiara Mu. A new initiative for individuals with Parkinson's, created in partnership with the Fresco Parkinson Institute, focuses on bodily expression. The Alzheimer's project, A più voci, has been ongoing since 2011 with weekly sessions. They also engage with various Italian institutions and hosted the annual international conference, Arte Accessibile, on November 29–30, 2018.
