Palazzo Strozzi launches Family Kit for 'Reaching for the Stars' exhibition

Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi in Florence has introduced a new Family Kit designed to make museum visits more accessible for families with children aged 5 and up. The kit, created for the exhibition 'Reaching for the Stars,' includes an animated map with colorful drawings, anecdotes, and prompts for reflection. The initiative launches on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 2 to 6 PM, and will be followed by a calendar of workshops and events, including a series of meetings led by curator Ludovica Sebregondi at Florentine public libraries. The exhibition features works from the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Collection, including pieces by Maurizio Cattelan and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, and aims to stimulate curiosity and fun for young visitors. Arturo Galansino, director general of Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi and curator of the show, emphasized that the collaboration between Palazzo Strozzi and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo goes beyond mere exhibition of works, fostering accessibility, participation, and experimentation. Additional activities include 'Bidibidobidiboo' for children aged 3 to 6, held every Wednesday from March 22 to June 14, 2023, featuring sensory experiences and rocket-building. The Family Kit is available free in print at the museum or downloadable from home.
