Palazzo Reale di Napoli Unveils New Logo and Visual Identity

Palazzo Reale di Napoli has launched a comprehensive rebranding with a new visual identity created by a team of designers. The new logo, selected from over 200 entries in a competition, features a stylized 'R' and 'N' that also evokes a royal throne, with asymmetrical symmetry referencing the palace and its square. The project was led by Francesca Pavese, Vito Della Speranza, Francesca Cuomo, and Ciro Esposito. The winning design received a €15,000 prize. The rebranding aims to position the palace as a cultural and artistic epicenter for Naples, following its establishment as an autonomous museum in 2020. The palace now also houses the Soprintendenza Archeologica Belle arti e paesaggio for the metropolitan area of Naples. President Mario Epifani emphasized the goal of restoring the image of a great royal residence that is not only a museum but also a complex site linked to the Biblioteca Nazionale and Teatro di San Carlo, and a symbolic place for the city. The new identity seeks to highlight the palace's treasures and foster connections with other royal residences in Italy and Europe, while strengthening ties with the city as a venue for events.
