Palazzo Pitti's Museo della Moda unveils new installation 'Tracce. Dialoghi ad arte'

The Museo della Moda e del Costume at Palazzo Pitti in Florence has launched a new permanent exhibition called 'Tracce. Dialoghi ad arte.' Architect Mauro Linari designed it, while Caterina Chiarelli, Simonella Condemi, and Tommaso Lagattolla curated it. Instead of a traditional timeline, this exhibit focuses on visual relationships between fashion pieces and artworks from the Galleria di Arte Moderna, using mirrored bases to create artistic conversations. This renovation stemmed from a partnership in 2015 that included the Gallerie degli Uffizi and others. Director Eike Schmidt praised the upgrades, positioning them alongside top fashion museums globally. The reopening coincides with the 93rd Pitti Immagine Uomo from January 9–12, 2018. A new exhibition, 'EVOLUZIONE – INVOLUZIONE – RIVOLUZIONE,' curated by Stefano Pilati, will open in June 2018 at the Museo degli Argenti and run until October 21, 2018.
