Palazzo Nervi Scattolin in Venice to Host Nighttime Video Art Projection Exhibition
Starting May 6, 2026, the modernist facade of Palazzo Nervi Scattolin in Venice will serve as a projection screen for the video art exhibition 'If All Time Is Eternally Present.' Organized by the Pier Luigi Nervi Foundation with support from Bottega Veneta, the exhibition is presented as a Collateral Event of the 61st International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale. Curated by Chiara Carrera and Marta Barina, the project features new and existing video works by artists Kandis Williams, Meriem Bennani & Orian Barki, and Tai Shani, projected directly onto the building's exterior. This initiative inaugurates 'Building Dialogue,' a new program by the foundation exploring connections between contemporary artistic practices and the built environment, continuing the conceptual legacy of engineer and architect Pier Luigi Nervi. The exhibition title references T.S. Eliot's 'Four Quartets,' reflecting on themes of time and presentness. Projections will begin nightly at 8:30 PM, transforming the urban landscape and engaging passersby. Palazzo Nervi Scattolin, completed in 1972 as the headquarters for the Cassa di Risparmio di Venezia, represents a rare example of modernist architecture in Venice. The exhibition aims to create a dialogue between Nervi's architectural history and the visual research of the participating artists, examining notions of Zeitgeist and Jetztzeit.
