Palazzo Magnani Announces Fall 2024 Exhibitions and 2023 Report

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Palazzo Magnani in Reggio Emilia has unveiled its fall 2024 exhibition program, alongside a positive 2023 financial report. The foundation reported a net profit of €10,578 and net assets of €162,515, with a 30% increase in visitors and revenue compared to 2022. Mayor Marco Massari emphasized the integration of contemporary art with regenerated urban spaces. The fall season opens on September 21 at Palazzo da Mosto with a retrospective of Luciano Bertoli (1940–), titled "Frattempo. La curva di Mandelot," curated by Martina Corgnati, exploring the link between art and mathematical fractals. This will be followed by a solo show of Davide Benati (1949–), "Encantadas," curated by Walter Guadagnini, featuring works from the 1980s and travel sketchbooks. On October 22, David Tremlett (1945–) will present "Another Step" at Chiostri di San Pietro, curated by Marina Dacci, with new works and a site-specific piece in a former feed mill, "The organ pipes," marking the start of a three-year project to bring international artists to Reggio Emilia. The Chiostri di San Pietro will be a focal point, with ATUSS funds aiming to position Reggio Emilia as a City of Contemporary Culture. The foundation's success is attributed to synergies between the municipality and province, as well as the Art Bonus tax incentive program, which generated four euros for every euro spent on Fotografia Europea.
